Evenepoel flew on Thonon's clock and won his second straight win
The Belgian took 28 seconds ahead of the overall ranking leader, Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, while German Florian Lipowitz suffered a severe fall that forced him to leave the race.

The Belgian Remco Evenepoel flew against the clock in Thonon and won his second straight win on the Tour de France after beating the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar.
The world and Olympic champion has outperformed the overall ranking leader in 28 seconds and won his third time in the French race, although Pogacar has remained in a good position to win his fifth Tour de France.
Lipowitz left the Tour after a fall.
On the other hand, the German Florian Lipowitz, third ranked on last year's Tour de France, has suffered a severe fall in the counterclockwork and has had to leave the race. The Red Bull cyclist, fifth inthe overall ranking, has gone to the ground in the descent of the Larringes.
With a soreleft collarbone, the cyclist climbs into an ambulance and says goodbye to his chances of finishing the test.
