This Saturday the shovel finals of the AMPO Championship were played in Sopelana from the Basque Country to the World. In the leather shovel finals, Ibai Perez and Landeta beat Madariaga and Sierra in three sets (15-14, 12-15 and 10-8). In the short shovel finals, Gaubeka and Gordon beat Erik and Olazabal in two sets (15-7 and 15-11).
The new competition, created for the preparation of the Basque Ball Selection, will bring together about 30 festivals, from 8 May to 7 June, in different localities of the Basque Country.
The finals will be played on April 12 at the Beloki fronton in Zumarraga, and will be broadcast live by ETB1 and EITB platforms.
The finals of the Basque Adapted Ball Circuit have been played today in Basauri. Sergio Rodríguez and Edorta de Anta have been imposed in the category of physical integrity, while Leire Esnal and Erik Gaton have won in the category of intellectual disabilities.
The circuit will take place in the towns of Lasarte and Zumarraga, Gipuzkoa, Mallabia and Basauri, in Bizkaia, and Llodio and Amurrio, in Álava. The competition will begin on the 22nd.
