The Belgian Tim Merlier won the eighth stage of the Tour in Bergerac on Saturday, adding his second win in this edition and confirming that he is one of the strongest sprinters in the race.

Tim Merlier continues to prove his strength on the Tour de France. The Belgian won the eighth stage onSaturday in the sprintahead of Bergerac, Eritrean Biniam Girmay and Dutch Olav Kooij.
With this victory, the second in this edition, and the fifth in the French race, Merlier has confirmed his great moment of form among the platoon's sprinters.
The Slovenian Tadej Pogacar retains the yellow jersey, Danish Jonas Vingegaard is second, while Mexican Isaac del Toro is third.
