UCI World Tour

The first stage has been marked by rain and a fall that has divided the platoon eight kilometres away.

The Slovenian cyclist (UAE) confirmed his excellent start of the season by imposing himself on the Tour de Romandía with a new stage victory.

The Slovenian has won his third win in this edition by winning only in Charmey and sentencing the general in the absence of the last day.

Today's stage has been very similar to the first. The first part has passed through flat roads. The second was the climb to the Col du Mollendruz (9 km, 6.2%) , 32 km from the finish line in Orbe, where the most important movements of the race were expected.

In the general, Pogacarretains 17 seconds for the still second Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull Bora). The third is French Lenny Martinez (Bahrain) 26 seconds away.

Tomorrow's stage will be mountainous because four mountain ports will pass during the race. It will be 149.6 kmlong, it will start at Broc and end at  y Charmey. 

Soderqvist, Conca, Thalmann and Renard-Haquin have been the protagonists of the day's getaway, but the platoon has caught them within four kilometers of the finish line.

Carapaz could be on the Tour de France, but he showed his disappointment: "The Giro is a race I've always loved and I was looking forward to."

Pogacar attacked at the top of the Ovronnaz and reached the finish line along with three other cyclists, Lipowitz, Martinez and Nordhagen, and was the fastest in the sprint.

The French cyclist of the Ineos Grenadier has entered the Portuguese Ivo Oliveira (UAE) and the Swedish Jakob Soderqvist (Lidl-Trek), second and third respectively.

The Soudal Quick-Step team has announced that the Basque cyclist suffers a small fracture in the pelvis due to a fall in the Vuelta. The atmosphere will begin on May 8 and the UAE Joao Almeida will not be in the race either.

The Slovenian has once again prevailed in the Liège Bastogne-Liège after a tense duel with the Frenchman Paul Seixas, while Vollering has attacked the Redoute High and has crossed the finish line alone in an edition with significant casualties.

The young Frenchman of the Decathlon has made the attack a decisive climb in the race and has left all his rivals behind.

The race will have a new ending, as the organizers have decided to tighten the run-up to the historic climbs by adding two new ports, the Col du Maquisard and the Cote de Desnie.

The 90th edition of the classic will be played next Wednesday and the race will be broadcast live on ETB1 from 3:15 p.m. This year it starts for the first time in Herstal, very close to Liège. Pogacar was the winner of last year's race at the Huy Wall.

The German has surpassed the Swiss in the last few meters to win the fourth win in his palmaris.

The Belgian Wout van Aert (Visma) has won the 113th edition of the París-Roubaix by defeating Tadej Pogacar in the sprint; the "Hell of the North" has again escaped the Slovenian, the only "Monument" missing in his palmaris.
