Alex Aranburu takes the lead on the Tour de Belgium after winning the third stage
The Guipuzcoan cyclist overtook Lewis Askey in the final sprint of the third stage, and took the lead.

The Guipuzcoan cyclist Alex Aranburu (Cofidis) won the third stage ofthe Tour de Belgium on Friday, with departure and arrival in Durbuy (173 km).
Alex Aranburu, who has taken 4 hours, 7 minutes and 28 seconds to complete his career, has won his 11th professional victory, the second of the season. In the overall ranking, Askey is 4 seconds away and the Spaniard Carlos Canal (Movistar) is 6, the latter after being third in the stage.
After several attempts at attack in the last few miles, Pluimers opened a gap within 5 kilometers of the end of the stage and left alone. The Dutchman held out until the last climb, but was caught within 600 metres of the finish line. Teunissen was also caught on the last hill.
Aerts attacked 500 meters away, and Askey sprinted, but Aranburu caught him in the last few feet and nearly crossed the line over the Brit.
