The second ranked was the Portuguese Rafael Reis (Anicolor) , 16 seconds from the Danish cyclist, and the third was his compatriot Nelson Oliveira (Movistar Tem) , 17 seconds away.
Norwegian Jørgen Nordhagen (VISMA) was fourth to 28 seconds and Adam Yates (UAE) was sixth to 41.
This year's edition, very mountainous, will be played again in full in Galicia, after last year's first stage in Portugal, and the Galician round is for the first time in April.
