The fifth edition of the Jaen Paraíso Interior Classic, which will begin and end in Ubeda next Monday, September 16, was presented this Tuesday in Madrid as a competition between the best teams on the World Tour, with Tom Pidcock as the top favorite by experts.
Much of this race runs along the roads that cross the olive groves surrounding Ubeda, with a 169-kilometer route, and has been won, among others, by the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar in previous editions. This year the winner of the Tour will not be at the exit of Ubeda.
PROFILE
There will be no shortage of incentives in sports, as Pidcock, who will lead the Pinarello Q36.5 team, will face UAE Tim Wellens , one of the most faithful cyclists to the Classical Paradise Wellens Jaen, ranked in the top 10 of all editions: second in 2022, third in 2023, fourth in 2024 and tenth in 2025.
Red Bull Bora wants to star with Giulio Pellizzari and Jai Hindley, as well as Movistar , this time with Spanish champion Ivan Romeo . Caja Rural, Burgos Burpellet, Kern Pharma and Euskaltel Euskadi will also compete in Ubeda.
ITINERARY
Pascual Momparler, organizer of the classic, has warned of the possibility of changing some section of the race due to the recent heavy rains, especially in the 35 kilometers of land. "We may have to change some stretch so that we can watch the entire race on television," he explained.
On the other hand, Momparler talks about this year's attempts to bring in Van der Poel and Pogacar, but the planning of his season prevents the Slovenian from being in Jaen.
