The sixth edition of the "Remontari" competition will begin on May 11 with five couples looking for the precious cap
Segurola-Larrañaga, Ansa II-Zubiria, Ezkurra II-Azpiroz, Goikoetxea V-Juanenea and Aldabe-Barrenetxea IV will face each other.
The future of the Remonte begins with the Remonte 2026 Cider Championship on May 11. It is not known whether the sixth edition will be the last.
Five couples will compete in the first phase of the tournament: Segurola-Larrañaga (2022 doubles champions representing the Petritegi sidreria), Ansa II-Zubiria (last year's doubles champions representing Bereziartua ), Ezkurra II-Azpiroz (2024 doubles champions representing Aburuza ), Goikoetxea V-Juanenea (2025 champion representing Alorrenea ), and Aldabe-Barrenetxea IV (2024 doubles champions representing Aburuza).
On the first day the matches will be Ezkurra II- Azpiroz vs Aldabe-Barrenetxea IV and Goikoetxea V-Juanenea vs Ansa II-Zubiri.
The games will be organized in a game format, with two games of 15 in the beginning, but if each couple wins agame, a third game will be played, at 8, to determine the winning couple of the match.
The scoring system inthe league will be as follows: winning the first two games (2-0) 4 points; winning one of the first sets and the third (2-1) 3 points; winning one of the first two games (1-2) 1 point; if no set has been won (0-2) 0 points; and between the first two games not reaching 15 points (0-2), -1 point.
At the end of the league, the third and fourth place couples will have to play the play-off on June 15, while the second place couples will qualify for the semi-final and the first place couple will qualify for the final.
The second place couple in the league and the play-off winner will play the only semi-final onJune 22. The first place couple in the league and the semi-final winner will play the final onJune 29.

Barrenetxea IV, Aldabe, Ansa II and Zubiri have chosen the material they will use in the final of the Remonte Tournament. The Blue Grains have chosen live balls, as they have throughout the tournament, while the Purple have chosen lower, lighter balls.

Imanol Ansa and Aritz Zubiri have defeated Ander Goikoetxea and Aritz Juanenea (9-15 and 8-15) in two games. With this victory, the purple have won the semi-final pass and hope to make a nice match against Ezkurra II-Azpiroz.
