The Iron Cup in Bilbao will begin on May 1 with six female and male couples

Six months have passed since the start of the season and the Bilbao Iron Cup has arrived. It is the highest level tournament in the Professional Basketball League.
This tournament is sponsored by the Bilbao City Council through Bilbao Kirolak and has been presented at the Deportivo fronton.
Two years ago, the first edition of this tournament made a real revolution in the basket top calendar. After many years, the stands of the Deportivo fronton were filled to the top.
With this third edition, it can be said that the Iron Cup has become a world reference basket championship. Remember that it has reached not only the Northern and Southern Basque Country, but also the United States by the hand of the Biscayne Cup.
The men's duel will begin on May 1 with the match between Erkiaga and Urreisti , followed by Manci and Basque respectively. The first match of the afternoon will be played by Johan and the young Atain against the winning couple in the pre-elimination phase. This Saturday we will know their name: Astelarra-Zabala or Libois-Ibarluzea .
On the second day (May 8) the couples Olharan-Lekerika and Goitia-Gorka will play. The first phase of the tournament will end on May 15, the semi-finals will be played on May 22 and 29 and the grand finalon June 5.
In the case of women, Bilbao will be the sixth qualifying test of the season after Berriatua, Euskotren Winter Series (Durango), Araba Euskaraz, Zumaia and Cesta All Star (San Juan de Luz).
As in the Winter Series, instead of the usual four couples, six couples will participate in Bilbao, two of whom will enter the semi-finals directly (Lur-Oaia and Maite-Maialen) and the remaining four will play the quarter-finals: Erika-Maia vs Ihart-Arai and Elaia-Eneritz vs Helena-Frida.
Euskal Telebista will broadcast all matches live on ETB 1 ON and also streaming, and ETB1 will also broadcast deferred matches from May 1 and 22, as well as big finals.
