After the second day of rest, the 109 Giro de Italia will be the only time this year; it is flat, excellent for specialists, and men competing in the general will also have a chance to gain advantages in their favour.

The great stage, in the Apenino Mountains, is also the longest of the 109. It will end in Blockhaus, a historic mountain in the Giro; in 2024, in the women's test, Neve Bradbury won, and in the men's race, Eddy Merckx, Jose Manuel Fuente or Moreno Argentin, among others, won.

In the stage that will decide everything in the Women's Fifth Round, the Classical San Sebastian will be repeated, according to the organizers. The ports of Jaizkibel, first class, and Mendizorrotz, second class, the latter ten kilometers away, could be the protagonists on a day that will be full of excitement. 

The cyclists will have to climb five third-class ports and, in total, the accumulated level will be 2,560 kilometres; the fifth day of the Return Woman will be played through Bizkaia and, according to the organizers, "the five third-class ports are not in themselves decisive, but the chain and accumulation of the level will tighten the day."

The fifth stage of the race will be played on May 13. On the route, cyclists will have to climb the second-class Montagna Grande di Viggiano, which has a banner about fifty kilometers to the finish line. So far, this is the toughest port in the 109 test.

For the second day of the race, also in Bulgaria, the organizers have prepared a "winding" stage; the final part, for cyclists, will be "stressful".

The Herbeeras cyclist has beaten his teammate Lotte Kopecky and the Italian Letizia Paternoster (Liv AlUla Jayco) in the finish line. Today was the last chance to see an end of this kind since from tomorrow the ports will be important.

The race will run through Gipuzkoa on the first day, and cyclists will have to climb six punctual ports, all of them third-class: "It is a route without great ports, but with continuous climbs and unrest," the organizers say.

Berthet, Pasio, Consonni, Lippert, Bredewold and Blanco Calbet are some of the favorites to win in the fifth edition. The Basque cyclists will be three, Amondarain, Aranguren and Ostolaza, the three in the Basque team Laboral Kutxa – Euskadi Fundazioa.

Alessandro Ruta will be one of the presenters of the special session of the Giro de Italia. The Italian has pointed out that it will be a tough race year after year. Vingegaard is the favorite and points out that "the competition will be in second and third place".

Burgas (Bulgaria) has hosted the presentation of the 23 teams and 184 cyclists participating in the 21 stages of the Giro LIVE, kirolakeitb.eus ataria and ETB.

The Belgian SD Worx took advantage of today's sprint after being ranked second twice in advance. In addition, Kopecky is the new leader of the Lap, with a 10-second overload, 6 seconds ahead of Koch and 12 over Kerbaol.

Bossuyt didn't believe it was the first win in a big race, the fourth in his palmaris, but in the sprint he deserved that honor, as he has surpassed the best riders.

The first stage has been marked by rain and a fall that has divided the platoon eight kilometres away.

The Slovenian cyclist (UAE) confirmed his excellent start of the season by imposing himself on the Tour de Romandía with a new stage victory.

The Slovenian has won his third win in this edition by winning only in Charmey and sentencing the general in the absence of the last day.

Today's stage has been very similar to the first. The first part has passed through flat roads. The second was the climb to the Col du Mollendruz (9 km, 6.2%) , 32 km from the finish line in Orbe, where the most important movements of the race were expected.

In the general, Pogacarretains 17 seconds for the still second Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull Bora). The third is French Lenny Martinez (Bahrain) 26 seconds away.

Tomorrow's stage will be mountainous because four mountain ports will pass during the race. It will be 149.6 kmlong, it will start at Broc and end at  y Charmey. 

Soderqvist, Conca, Thalmann and Renard-Haquin have been the protagonists of the day's getaway, but the platoon has caught them within four kilometers of the finish line.

Carapaz could be on the Tour de France, but he showed his disappointment: "The Giro is a race I've always loved and I was looking forward to."
