A fine of two thousand euros to clubs that refused to row at the Factory Flag
The ACT Disciplinary Judge has decided on the proposed fine to be imposed on clubs that refused to row at the Factory Flag scheduledfor 25 July. Shipyard, Arraun Lagun, Hibaika, Orio, Tolosaldea and Zumaia face a fine of 2000 euros.
The Single Disciplinary Judge of the ACT opened disciplinary proceedings on 3August. The decision of the single judge stated that the coaches of the clubs, while holding a meeting of delegates in a joint activity, agreed to the suspension of the regatta. Subsequently , six participants, all except San Juan and San Sebastián, left the area with the trainers before the initially scheduled time for the regatta.
The judgedescribedthis as a "serious offence" under Article 14 (f) of the Disciplinary Regulations for carrying out activities or public statements that are harmful to the image and interests of the ACT or that may constitute a disregard or offence to the ACT, to the governing bodies of the ACT or to persons connected with the association.
In the motion for a resolution, the judge agrees to impose a fine ofEUR 2 000 on each of the six clubs, in accordance with Article 17 of the Disciplinary Rules.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the resolution provides that the documents of charges and the motion for a resolution shall be notified to the six clubs, giving them five working days to make such allegations as they deem appropriate.
