Orio has also been skillful in the Santurtzi Creek
Orio was imposed this Saturday on the XVLII of Santurtziof the Eusko Label League, the Ikurriña, showing that it also fits perfectly into the conditions of the stream. The first and second rounds have been turned upside down by the differences between the streets, but there have been no surprises among the favorites and Orio has won his seventh victory.
The San Nikolas took command of the regatta from the beginning, leaving behind Zierbena, Bermeo and Getaria. It was a round without emotion in which the boat led by Gorka Aranberri was imposed with atime of 19 minutes and 38 seconds. Zierbena was second to 11 seconds, Bermeo to 17 and Getaria to 21.
The other two rounds of competition have been tighter. The currents have forced the trainees to look for the streets of the wings and have had to run one after the other. This has led the judges to give some warnings, as they were getting too close to each other.
Thus, in the first batch, the best time was for Chapela, with a time of 20 minutes and 8 seconds. The question was whether those in the second round would be able to overcome that time. With difficulty, however, the Donostiarra managed to beat the mark for only two seconds.
Looking down at the stalls, Ondarroa, San Juan, Lekeitio and Ares have been the slowest boats of the day.
