Kilian Jornet will not participate in UTMB for meniscus fracture
Kilian Jornet has announced that he will not runthe Mont Blanc Ultra Trail (UTMB), which will be played in the French Alps from 24 to 28 August. The ultra phondist has explained that he has followed a more conservative treatment, but his knee problems have continued and, after talking to the medical team, he has decided to go through the operating room.
When he participated in Zegama-Aizkorri, he had already broken the meniscus. However, he believes that continuing to compete has not been the best option and has decided to focus on recovery. Jornet has acknowledged that he finds it hard to say no to a race, but, in the words of the runner, "these moments are part of the process and knowing how to adapt is key to continuing to do what I love for many years."
However, he confirmed that he will go to Chamonix and be "cheering as usual."
