The PIF, the Saudi regime's investment group, stressed in a statement that the decision to take resources away from the golf circuit "has been taken taking into account its priorities and current macroeconomic dynamics."
The team championship was originally scheduled for Aug. 27-30 in Michigan as an independent competition, but will be decided later this week in Chatham Hills , Indianapolis.
LIV Golf reports that those with tickets to Michigan will be reimbursed.

The team competition will count the points of each team's four players each day, and one of the 13 teams will be the LIV Golf 2026 champion.
PIF has invested more than $5 billion in the LIV Golf circuit since its inception in 2022 and managed to attract many PGA Tour players, including the Barrika golfer.
