He was the first sportsman to participate in the adapted biathlon with Spain.
The Basque sportsman Higinio Rivero has made history atthe Paralympic Winter Games in Milan Cortina, being the first to participate with Spain in the adapted biathlon , in addition to being the third paralympic sportsman to compete in the summer and winter games.
Since 2022 it has combined canoeing with cross-country skiing and biathlon, competing in these modalities in Spain and beyond.
Rivero finished this Saturday in 20th place in the Sprint Biathlon Test. Mixing cross-country skiing and shooting , he completed the test with a time of 23:34.1, punished for two errors in the 10-meter target.
Rivero has not been able to improve his performance this Sunday in the 12.5 km individual test, mainly due to a five-minute penalty , afterthe four failed in the second round of shooting .
