LIV Golf Championships will score for the world ranking from 2026
LIV Golf Championships, circuit tests funded by the Saudi Sub-Arab Investment Fund, will serve the world ranking from this season with several limitations, as there will be some changes in the competition format.
The Official World Golf Classification (OWGR) announced on Tuesday its decision to award world rankings points to LIV Golf competitors for the 2026 season.
The qualifying points will be awarded to the top 10 ranked (and tied) of the individual championships, so they will respond to the main proclamation made by the LIV golfers since its founding in June 2022.
Thus, the tournaments will have four days (72 holes) instead of three (54). The number ofplayers has also increased , from 54 to 57, with thirteen teams of four members, and five wildcards ("wild cards"). In addition, it will almost double the number of golfers who will be downgraded at the end of the campaign, which will now be eleven, about 20% of the team.
