Mollarri has qualified for the final after beating Ergobia in the first semi-final
Eight harrijasotzailes have started the fourth season of the "Harri Herri" program on the fronton of Etxebarri (Bizkaia). The women's teams Mollarri and Ergobia have played the first semi-final, and the first has been imposed on the final and decisive test with the first pass to the final. This year and for the first time the four stone lifters who make up each team will take the last step.
The group of Olaia Esnaola, Ainitze Zumeta, Malen Molandeira and Madi Salterain have given 34 lifts to the clumsy stone, while their opponents have given it 31 lifts, reaching this last session with 18 seconds of disadvantage, so Maddi Gesalaga, Ane Atxutegi, Leire Olea and Elene Ostolaza have been eliminated from the final.
Under the leadership of Captain Estitxu Almandoz, the harrijasotzaile Olaia Esnaola of the Mollarri team has given seven lifts to the 100-pound rectanglein the first test, while the winner of last year's final, Maddi Gesalaga (Ergobia), has given eight lifts to the same stone, so Karmele Gisasola's team has prevailed in the first session.
However, the joy has not lasted long, for in the next test, Ainitze Zumeta (Mollarri) has made 27 lifts to the 62.5 kilogram cubicin three minutes and Ane Atxutegi (Ergobia) only 23. Then, with the old cylinderof the same weight, Ergobia has paid for the bites to Mollarri, since Malen Molandeira has made 14 lifts in one minute.
In the penultimate test, Maddi Salterain (Mollarri), the youngest debutante and harrijasotzaile, has given 21 lifts to a 50-pound ballin two minutes, although in one of the last lifts there have been problems and he and the stone have fallen to the ground with a faint scare.
Thus, considering the time prizes for each uprising of all the stone lifters (8 seconds for each uprising with a rectangle, 5 seconds for the cubic and 3 seconds for the cylinder and ball), Mollarri has reached the final decisive test with 18 seconds' lead. As we have said, Estitxu Almandoz's team has made 34 lifts for the clumsy rock.
Just before that, Karmele Gisasola's Ergobia team had given him 31 lifts, so the Mollerri girls knew in advance where the barrier was to get the ticket to the grand finals.
In 15 days, Albizuri and Laukariz will play the first male semifinal.
