Elene Guturbay renews her contract with Athletic until 2029
Deusto's midfielder has extended his bond with the club for another three seasons, having recently become Europe's under-19 champion.
Elene Guturbay and the Athletic Club have reached an agreement to extend the midfielder's contract until 2029. Deusto's 18-year-old player has recently become Europe's Under-19 champion with the Spanish team in Bosnia.
Gurutbay debuted with the first women's team on December 7, 2025. Since then, she has played 21 official games in which she has scored a goal. In her first season in the elite, she has participated in 18 League F games, two Queen's Cup games and one Supercup.
As if that were not enough, in addition to becoming the usual face of the first team, the Deusto player helped elevate the second red-white team to the First RFEF category, playing eight games and scoring two goals.
According to the club, "internationally, Gurtubay continues to consolidate as a promising footballer who this summer, for the second consecutive year, won the European Under-19 Championship with the Spanish team and played an important role."
Elene Guturbay, for her part, said after signing the agreement: "It is a step forward in my sporting career and I am very grateful for my confidence and I am very happy to continue this great project. It is a club of my life and I am very proud to be able to represent this club and it is very special to be able to wear this shirt."
