Mikel Gonzalez has renewed his contract and will remain Athletic Football Director until 2030
The Athletic Club has confirmed that Mikel González will continue as Director General of Athletic Football until June 30, 2030, a position he reached in November 2022.
Gonzalez joined Athletic in June 2022, when Jon Uriarte came to the presidency, having previously worked as deputy sports director of Deportivo Alavés.
He first joined the Sports Area Board of Directors as Director of Sports Development and then became CEO after participating in the first months of Uriarte's tenure with a "key role in the most important decisions and projects."
"In addition to being the head of team composition and sales, Mikel González will continue to carry forward the Strategic Plan of his area with a key medium- and long-term vision, including bringing footballers of all levels to Lezama," the red-white club stressed.
