Athletic player Nico Williams, who is playing the World Cup, suffers a muscle injury to the right leg aductorcaused by Nicolas de la Cruz's entrance on Friday in the final minutes of the match against Uruguay on the third day of the World Cup group stage.
The test results do not exclude him from playing again at the 2026 World Cup, depending on the trajectory of the Spanish team in the tournament.
"Nico Williams suffers a muscle injury to the right aductor as a result of severe trauma caused by an entrance received during the match against Uruguay," the Spanish Football Federation said. "The injury is moderate and its evolution will mark his return," the doctor said.
