Iñigo Lekue announces he's quitting professional football
The Athletic player has made this decision after learning that the club will not renew his contract.
The Iñigo Lekue Athleticplayer will leave professional football at the end of the season after eleven seasons on the red-white team, as decided by the Deusto after the sports management announced that he will not renew his contract.
Trained at Danok Bat, Lekue played at Basconia and Bilbao Athletic before starting the first team.
In the absence of three days to finish the league, Lekuehas worn the red-white T-shirt in 281 official games (18 games this season), winning 3 tournaments: the 2023/24 Cup and the 2014/15 and 2019/20 Supercups.
