Former AthleticPresident Jon Uriarte  has officially presented his candidacy for the White Red Club Board of Directors on Monday, with the aim of making Athletic "much bigger" in the field of "sports, economic and social", but "honest in the values, philosophy and style" of the red-white club.

The candidacy presented in the offices of the bilbaine club has eight other members: Jon Salinas, Xabi Alvarez, Ibon Naberan, Nacho Uriguen, Roque Echaniz, Jon Ruigomez, Laura Ruiz de Azua and Josetxu Urrutia.

"Four years later, we come with humility, self-criticism, but with the same ambition, to make a Athletic that is much bigger, not only in sports but also in economic and social terms. Uriarte has argued that four years ago they arrived at Athletic "excited" and that they keep him intact to continue working for Athletic "with what he has learned and with the experience gained" in the last few waters. "That is why we are running again for the Athletic elections and we ask you for your support so that we can continue to join forces and get the decisions right for the club and, of course, correct the decisions that we have been able to make badly."

The bilbaíno has acknowledged that when they arrived at Athletictheywere "dizzy" by the numbers of the club , but has stressed that in the last four years they have managed to "turn around." "We now have a club with a solid balance sheet, with money in the bank, without debt and with a surplus for several years in a row. But we believe that we must continue to work along these lines in order to achieve the highest level of sport," he added.

So far, Jon Uriarte is the only candidatefor the Athletic Presidency and the Board of Directors for the May 8 elections. However, candidates for the presidency can process their support until April 9, when the deadline for the formal and full nomination of candidates will be opened, which will expire on April 18.
