Switzerland and Qatar draw 1-1 in Group B
Switzerland had the victory in its hands, but Qatar finally rescued the point in the extension. The European team took the lead thanks to Breel Embolo's penalty after a foul by goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada against Remo Freuler.

Scotland won a historic victory over Haiti, 36 years later again in the World Cup. The match was matched, but it was John McGinn's goal that decided the match in the 28th minute after a turbulent play in the area.
Haiti increased pace and pressure in the second half, but Scotland's strong defense gave it no choice and guaranteed victory until the end.
Australia lost 2-0 to Turkey in Group D
Australia gave a big surprise to Turkey by putting the match on its side thanks to efficiency. Nestory Irankundaopened the scoreboard after a rapid offensive transition, taking advantage of a well-executed counterattack.
In the second half, Connor Metcalf sentenced the game with a powerful shot from outside the area.
