The African Football Confederation has lost the final to Senegal by proclaiming Morocco Africa Cup champion
The Appeals Committee of the African Football Confederation gaveSenegal the final ofthe Africa Cup this Tuesday after winning 0-1 in the extension, so theMoroccan team is now champion with a 3-0 victory.
He clarified that he had taken the decision "in application of Article 84 of the Rules of Procedure" of this competition, according to which, in several cases, a team may lose the tournament, for example, if it leaves the field "before the regular end of the game, without judicial authorization", in which case "it shall be deemed to be lost and definitively eliminated".
In the finalof the Africa Cup on 18 January, the referee pointed out a penalty in favour of Morocco in the extension. Then the Senegal team threatened to leave the game and then all the players, except striker Sadio Mane, went into the locker room in protest. Morocco and the referee stayed onthefield and Mr Diaz threw the penalty and failed.
As a result, the match went to the extension, and Pape Guey scored the goal of Senegal's victory (1-0) in the 94th minute.
