Basauritarra coach Igor Oca will continue until the end of the 2025-2026 season on the CD Leganés, a team that occupies the downhill positions of LaLiga Hypermotión and was initially appointed interim replacement for Paco López following the dismissal of that coach in early December.
"CD Leganés will have Igor Oca as coach of the first team. After taking over the team on December 5, the Basque coach will continue to lead the first team on the return of the Christmas break and until the end of the season," the Madrid club reported on its website.
Oca, 44, arrived last summer from the Sestao River to lead the second team, keeping him in promotion playoff positions since the beginning of the season.
The career of the Vizcaíno coach, who began in the quarriesofVillarreal, Real Sociedad, Athletic and Levante, "has had extensive international experience", participating in competitions such as the Mexico Atletico San Luis and Ekuadko Independiente del Valle or the Universidad Catolica, among others.
Oca's main challenge will be to get the Leganés out of the downhill posts, even if they are only one point away from salvation. Under his leadership, the Madrid team has not yet won, having achieved two ties and a defeat so far.
