Matías Almeyda dismissed by Seville
The Andalusian team, after 29 days of the EA Sports League, is three points away from the descent posts. Sevilla is negotiating with former Alavés coach Luis García Plaza to replace the Argentine technician.
The Argentinian Matías Almeyda was dismissed on Monday by Seville following the defeat suffered this Saturday by that team against Valencia (0-2), which is only three points awayfromthe descent posts of Sevilla . Almeyda has led Seville in 32 official matches, 29 of them in the EA Sports League and three others in the Copa del Rey.
Almeyda, who arrived in Seville in the summer of 2025, has now left the bench at a difficult time in the classification, in 16th position with 31 points, after 8 victories, 7 draw and 14 defeats .
Sevilla is negotiating with Plaza Luis García to represent Almeyda, but other candidates such as Manolo Jiménez or Diego Martínezhave also been heard.
With the Argentine technician, Seville adds 31 points, 16 of them in its stadium during 15 matches and 15 outside in 14 games, and is the top scoring team with 49 goals.
