Laliga will hold its first "Retro Day"from April 10 to 13. Teams from both professional categories, as well as referees, will play with equipment based on historical models of their career.
The initiative aims to act as a generational bridge between the origins of fans and the way football lives today, according to LaLiga. LaLiga has stressed that it is the only one of the five major European championships to host a day of this magnitude.
For Jaime Blanco, director of the LaLiga Club Office , the dayis"a great opportunity to pay tribute to the history of our teams and the symbols that have marked several generations of fans."
Despite the objective of the initiative, there are four teams that will not participate in this, these are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano and Getafe . These teams have suffered various technical and logistical problems that have prevented the production of special t-shirts. However, they will participate in other LaLiga initiatives and are expected to be able to participate in the next season.
