Infantino cancels project to open FIFA to private investors

FIFA PresidentGianni Infantino has called off the Forward Enterprise (FFE) FIFA project after several confederations and federations, including UEFA, opposed it.

With this initiative, the organization sought to open its doors to private investors and sell shares in competitions such as the World Cup and the Club World Cup.

CONMEBOL, CONCACAFand AFChave rejected this project from the outset and UEFA and its 55 member federations have warned that they will not participate in competitions organised by FIFA if the proposal succeeds.

Infantino has acknowledged that the initiative "hascreated divisions"and no longer fulfils the goal of" uniting and improving "football. The decision comes even after the resignation of his chief adviser, Carlos Cordeiro , who believes that the project would be "a bad deal for football."

The president of FIFA has assured us that he will continue to talk to football players to boost the growth of sport, especially in the countries most in need of help.
