Zinedine Zidane, France's new coach until 2030: "It's a dream come true."

Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has been named France's coach for the next four years, until the 2030 World Cup in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, replacing Didier Deschamps , as announced on Tuesday by the French Football Federation.

The President of the Federation, Philippe Diallo, accompanied by Zinedine Zidane, has appeared, the French lost to Spain in the semi-finals of the past World Cup (2-0), but Deschamps has had a great career, winning a World Cup (2018) and a League of Nations (2021).

"It's kind of a dream come true. In those four or five years when I stopped training, I got offers to run a club. I rejected everyone because of the French team, which was the only thingI wanted to do after my experience in Real Madrid. I've known it since I was a kid, I started in the lower grades, I went through every stage until I got to the first team, to the top.

Zidane has conveyed his support to the firefighters and the victims of the fires that are ravaging the French state, and congratulated his predecessor, Didier Deschamps, on "everything he has done."

Zidane, 54, will debut on the French bench on September 25 on the first day of the League of Nations group stage against Turkey , three days before playing against Belgium . Zidane will lead his first match against Italy in France on October 2at the Saint-Denis stadium in Paris.
