Xabier Mikel Azparren wins silver in the Spanish Time Championship
The Donostiarra was second, four seconds from the winner, Pablo Castrillo, in the highest category, while in the elite category, the Zumaiarra Aitor Agirre won the gold.
Xabier Mikel Azparren (Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) has won the absolute time silver medal inthe Spanish Cycling Championships held in Sabiñánigo (Huesca). The Donostiarra cyclist has stayed just four seconds away from the winner of the test, Pablo Castrillo (Movistar, 37:40).
On the other hand, in the elite category, zumaiarra Aitor Agirre (Smartlog Nest) won the gold after falling ahead of Eloy Teruel (Hig Level - Gsport).
In the female category, Mireia Benito finished with the best time (25:59) to win the tournament for the fourth time in a row. Second place was for Sara Martín (26:20) and third place for Sandra Alonso (Eneitcat-Becall, 26:26). Catalan Paula Blasi (26:39) and Navarre Paula Ostiz (27:14) took fourth and fifth place respectively.
For the rest, Navarros Nahia Imaz and Goretti Sesma have won silver and bronze respectively in the women's under-23 category, while Donostiarra Aimar Alarcia has won the bronze medal in the male under-23 category after climbing in the second part of the test.
