Pogacar has won the Tour de Romandía by defeating the last stage as well
The Slovenian cyclist (UAE) confirmed his excellent start of the season by imposing himself on the Tour de Romandía with a new stage victory.
Tadej Pogacar (UAE) has taken another blow of authority in the international platoon after winning the Romandia Tour , consolidating his candidacy for one of the best cyclists in history. The UAE Team Emirates cyclist has finished the race with a demonstration of control and ambition , adding his 116 professional victory.
In the sixth and final stage, a journey of 178.2 kilometers between Lucens and the sharp ascent to Leysin, the Slovenian has managed without difficulty the 35-second advantage he had over the German Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull Bora).
The podium was completed by Florian Lipowitz himself and Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) 2 minutes and 44 secondsfrom the winner.
With this victory, Pogacar has successfully begun the season of stages, confirming his status as a reference in world cycling , and sending a clear message to his rivals for the main goals of the year.
