The tour presents the official tour of Basque Country 2026
The race will be held from 6 to 11 April and will begin in Bilbao with a counterclockwork.
Theofficial tour of the Basque Country 2026 was presented this Wednesday in Eibar with the presence of Eibar Sports Councilor Andoni Ameztoy and OCETA President Javier Riaño.
From 6to 11April, cyclists will complete six stages, 809.6 kilometers, 16,154 meters of accumulated disparity ahead of eta 29.
1st stage Bilbao – Bilbao (13.9 km)
The tour will begin with a short individual counterclockwork, ideal to mark the first sides. This year they will recover the clock that had to be made in 2021 without an audience due to the pandemic.
2nd stage Pamplona – Mendukilo caves (164.1 km)
On the second day, cyclists will enter the classic section of the Tour, which has a cumulative slope of more than 3,300 meters, is as long as it is durable, and, although it is not an impressive finish, it will be extremely painful.
It can be a very good day for well-organized getaways or for the general team to start stretching the race.
Basauri – Basauri (152.8 km)
Although it's not a long stage, it has a level of nearly 2,900 meters.
It's not a decisive stage, but it's dangerous for people who don't do well.
4th stage Galdakao – Galdakao (167.2 km)
With a level of more than 3,200 meters, this stage requires regularity and good reading of the race.
Stage 5 Eibar – Eibar (176.2 km)
April 10 is the toughest day. With 176.2 kilometers and a level of 3,841 meters, it's a significant day for the general.
The forecast is that there could be direct attacks between the top favorites.
6th stage Bergara – Bergara (135.2 km)
The last stage won't be normal. Even if it's shorter, since it's going to have a slope of nearly 3,000 meters, it's going to be enough to keep the tension going until the end.
If the general is tight, they'll have to constantly control their rivals.
