The sixth edition of Remontari will start on May 11th, with five couples looking for the precious cap
The couples Segurola-Larrañaga, Ansa II-Zubiria, Ezkurra II-Azpiroz, Goikoetxea V-Juanenea and Aldabe-Barrenetxea IV will compete.
With the future of the remount in the air, the 2026 Remonte Cider Championship will begin on May 11, with the intention that this sixth edition will not be the last.
Five couples will compete in the first phase of the tournament: Segurola-Larrañaga (2022 couples champions, replacing the Petritegi sidreria), Ansa II-Zubiria (last year's couples champions, replacing Bereziartua ), Ezkurra II-Azpiroz (2024 couples champions, replacing Aburuza ), Goikoetxea V-Juanenea (2025 champion, replacing Alorrenea ).
The matches will be played on 11, 18 and 25 May and 1 and 8 June . The first day will be played by Ezkurra II- Azpiroz vs Aldabe-Barrenetxea IV and Goikoetxea V-Juanenea vs Ansa II-Zubiri.
The matches will be played in game format, consisting of two games of 15 so many at the start of the game, but if each couple wins one game, a third will be played at 8 so thatthe winning couple of the match can be determined.
The scoring system in the leaguewill be as follows: winning the first two games (2-0) 4 points; winning one of the first sets and the third set (2-1) 3 points; winning one of the first two games (1-2) 1 point; not winning a single set (0-2) 0 points; and not reaching 15 points (0-2) 1 point between the first two games.
The third and fourth place couples will play the next phase. At the end of the league, the third and fourth place couples will have to play the playoff on June 15. The second place will qualify for the semi-final, while the first place couple will be ranked directly for the final.
The couple who are second in the league and the couple who have won the playoff will play the only semi-final onJune 22. The couple who are first in the league and the couple who have won the semi-final will play the final on June 29.
