The eighteen Oriamendi lifts have expressed their support for Imanol Ansa , eliminated from the 2010 Individual Championship. The pelotaris have issued a statement on Tuesday highlighting that they find it difficult to understand the decision. They have also expressed their full support for Ansa II . They have also called for the future of the lifts.
The Declaration is signed by Aitor Aiestaran, Paulo Aiestaran, Kemen Aldabe, Mattin Arluziaga, Xabier Azpiroz, Julen Deskarga, Aritz Eskudero, Josetxo Ezkurra, Ander Goikoetxea, Joseba Goikoetxea, Urtzi Gurrutxaga, Jon Irazu, Aimar Jabalera, Iban Larrañaga, Imanol de Rueda.
In this context, in the statement signed by a large majority of professional lifesavers, they express their full support for Imanol Ansa. Given what has happened in recent months and the explanations of all parties, we cannot remain silent. We believe that this conflict has long gone beyond the initial motive. What initially seemed like a temporary measure has in practice become a situation that is conditioning the sporting career of a colleague of ours.
Furthermore, the text continues, we would like to stress that even Imanol himself in this conflict has apologized to Oriamendi in the event that a decision of his has caused inconvenience or damage to the organisation of the company, a gesture that demonstrates his willingness to bring the situation back on track.
On the part of the pelotaris, we have always been respectful and constructive. We have held meetings with the company, we have sent out joint writings and we have conveyed our concern honestly. However, we regret that our opinion has not been taken into account.
We also believe that we cannot ignore the work that Imanol Ansa has done over all these years for the remonte. In addition to being an excellent sportsman, he has trained amateurs voluntarily, he has taken guided tours in different languages, he has also participated in the maintenance of the court, he has worked to improve the material and he has made these improvements available to all the pelotaris, he has been an example and friend to many, he has been constantly promoting the future of the remount and he has always prioritised common interests, leaving personal interests in the background.
Next, they refer to the situation of the hill. We would like to point out that this goes beyond support for Imanol Ansa. It is also a clamour for the future of the hill. The final decision and the way in which conflicts have been managed have made the atmosphere worse, have directly affected the pelotaris and are damaging the remonte itself. Furthermore, knowing that Oriamendi 2010, S.L. will no longer manage the remount in 2026, we believe it is essential to resolve this conflict and to bring it to a dignified and unitary end.
In the opinion of the signatories, not only is Imanol Ansa losing today, but he is losing the whole remonte: the pelotaris, the fans and the modality itself. It is difficult for us to understand that a pelotari who has given everything for the remount for years, after the deadline set by the company, will not be able to play the most important tournament of the year.
Therefore, the pelotaris conclude, we want to publicly express our concern and disagreement. We are in time. For the sake of the hill, we are in time for this situation to be resolved and for Imanol Ansa to be able to participate in the Individual Championship. We believe that there is still the possibility of finding a solution that benefits everyone. The hill requires dialogue, respect and objective sporting criteria.
In the Individual Championship, the final stage painting will be made up of the finalists of last year, Aritz Juanenea and Endika Barrenetxea , who will be joinedby\u00A0 Xabi Azpiroz, Josetxo Ezkurra, Iban Larrañaga and Kemen Aldabe .
