Surne Bilbao Basket has taken a step forward on its way to the semi-finals ofthe FIBA Europa Cup after winning 69-77 to Aliaga Petkimspori in the quarter-finals.
The Biscayan team started the match with a partial of 0-10 and surprised the Turkish team. Darrun Hilliardand Adam Smithled the visiting attack and the men in black took an 11-point lead (19-30) at the beginning of the second quarter. However, in the final minutes before the break, Petkimspor reacted eta with a 12-0 partial.
After the break, the Turkish team increased its defensive intensity and put itself ahead in the middle of the third quarter (48-40), when Hlinason appeared under the hoop and the shots of Petras and Hilliard to hold the Bilbao Basket.
In the last quarter, Hilliard's two triples have been decisive in consolidating the score and securing victory, and with that result, Ponsarnau's team has put the playoff on track before Miribilla's return game.
