Xevi Pujol leaves Kosner Baskonia to become the sports director of Barcelona
After five seasons as Manresa's technical secretary, the Catalan arrived at the Vitorian club last season. Pujol has unilaterally terminated his relationship with Baskonia.
FC Barcelona announced on Monday that Xevi Pujol will be the sports director for the next three seasons, replacing Juan Carlos Navarro, who will become ambassador of the club and adviser to young players in the lower categories.
Pujol,36 years old\u00A0, so far Kosner, sports director of the Baskonia, will be the chief sports officer of the Catalan team, who will be responsible for defining the sports philosophy of the basketball section.
Inthe 2024-25 season , Pujol was named Best Sports Director by the magazine Gigantes , then technical secretary ofBasquet Manresa , where after five seasons, Pujol came to Baskonia and in the last season won theCopa del Rey with the Alavés team.
Barcelona wanted a replacement for Navarro and targeted Pujol, but Baskonia did not want to negotiate the termination of the contract, and the Catalan side has unilaterallyseparated the channels.
