Allyson Felix returns to athletics at 40 to try to compete in Los Angeles 2028
The retired athlete in 2022 holds 11 Olympic medals in his palmaris.
The 40-year-old American Allyson Felix will return to athletics to try to compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, according to an interview released on Monday.
Felix has won a total of eleven Olympic medals, seven gold, three silver and one bronze, and is the most award-winning athlete on the track in the history of the Games. He retired in 2022, but, "At this age I should probably stay home looking after my children. And quite simply, why not? Let's turn the situation around.
"This is a return home that's unique in life. I know I'm not at my best at 40. He doesn't dream about it. I'm very clear what I'm talking about and what they're trying to achieve. And I hope to see it that way," Felix said.
The athletics star, who has won 20 World Cup medals throughout her career, has confirmed that she won't dream, but is ready to try .
