A penalty goal by Mikel Oyarzabal, in the 20th minute, and another by Pedro Porro, in the 58th minute, ranked Luis de la Fuente's team.

However, with a "similar methodology," the red-white medical leader added that the 2024-2025 season, in which Athletic finished fourth and played the Europa League semifinals, was "the best" of the last decade.

The Navarro, on a pass from Ferran Torres, scored in the 91st minute for Luis de la Fuente in the quarterfinals. Spain will be measured against the winner of the US-Belgika match.

The tournament will begin on June 11 and will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico until July 19.

The test results do not exclude him from playing again at the 2026 World Cup, depending on the trajectory of the Spanish team in the tournament.

Unai Simone, Laporte and Oyarzabal started, and Merino and Nico Williams left in the second half.
