Jonas Vingegaard has won the 2026 Giro de Italia in Rome, thanks to a strong three-week dominance, especially in the mountain stages where the race is almost decided. With this victory, the Dane has won the three great laps. Jonathan Milan, for his part, has won the final stage with a spectacular mass sprint.

The Danish Team Visma has dominated the final stage of the high mountain and, with a spectacular display, has taken the victory with absolute superiority, consolidating the pink maglia and sentencing the overall ranking.

The Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Visma) took over in the 20th stage of the Giro de Italia. He attacked for 10 kilometers and, advancing one by one, won his fifth victory in the race.

The American from Team Visma  has given an exhibition in Allegh, and his teammate Vingegaard has clung to the pink jersey.

The main group has left no room for escape, and after beating the last port of the day, the Muro di Ca'del Poggio, the fastest men in the platoon have had one last chance ahead of Rome.

In the 2026 Giro de Italia, cyclists have had to climb the first great port of the 109th edition of the race. Jonas Vingegaard has won the victory ahead of Felix Gallen and Afonso Eulalio remains the leader. 

The stage will end in a first-class port, the Corno alle Scale, which is a 10.8 km climb with an average slope of 6.1% and a 15% slope. The next day, cyclists have rest, for the second time in the 109 Giro, which also allows men competing in the general to fight.

The Dane will face Bernal, Mas, Adam Yates and Pellizzari to take over the pink maglia, as Pogacar, Seixas, Simon Yates, Del Toro, Carapaz and Evenepoel will not be on the way out.

After the second day of rest, the 109 Giro de Italia will be the only time this year; it is flat, excellent for specialists, and men competing in the general will also have a chance to gain advantages in their favour.

The great stage, in the Apenino Mountains, is also the longest of the 109. It will end in Blockhaus, a historic mountain in the Giro; in 2024, in the women's test, Neve Bradbury won, and in the men's race, Eddy Merckx, Jose Manuel Fuente or Moreno Argentin, among others, won.

The fifth stage of the race will be played on May 13. On the route, cyclists will have to climb the second-class Montagna Grande di Viggiano, which has a banner about fifty kilometers to the finish line. So far, this is the toughest port in the 109 test.

For the second day of the race, also in Bulgaria, the organizers have prepared a "winding" stage; the final part, for cyclists, will be "stressful".

109. The Giro de Italia will be held from 8 May to 31 May and will begin in Nessebar, Bulgaria, and end in Rome.

The Danish cyclist has won the Volta to Catalonia after the final stage in which the Australian Gilmore won the sprint.

The leader of the Catalan race has attacked 2.2 kilometers from the end and has escaped alone; in 4 hours, 5 minutes and 19 seconds to reach the finish line.

The stage has come to an unexpected end when Evenepoel Vingegaard was on his head when he fell at the entrance of a 500-foot roundabout to reach the finish line. In the midst of this chaos, leader Goddon appeared to start the sprint and pocket his second victory in three days.

Lenny Martinez and Jonas Vingegaard have combined in the final miles of the 8th stage of Paris Nice, but both have sought victory.

Vingeggard has won his 45th victory and his third of the season.
