The American Emma Hunt broke the world record for speed climbing this Saturday with atime of 5 minutes and 99 seconds , making her the first woman to descend from six seconds on a wall of 15 meters.
Hunt, 23, fifth in the ranking of the international federation (World Climbing), has brokenthe recordof 6.03 for Olympic champion Aleksandra Miroslaw in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Krakow, Poland.
Miroslaw, leader of the world rankings and first Olympic speed climbing champion in Paris 2024, had won the last ten world records , the last of them, 6.03, in September 2025.
