Unai Laso and Jon Ander Albisu have proclaimed themselves 2026 Couples Champions after defeating in the final Jokin Altuna and Joseba Ezkurdia (16-22).

Jon Ander Peña has won the ticket to play the next Manomanist Championship after dominating Jon Mariezkurrena with great authority in the final round (22-7). 

The final of the 2026 Couples Championship will be played on the fronton Nafarroa Arena, where since the opening of the pavilion in 2018 six major finals have been played, so Sunday will be the seventh.

The couples Albisu-Laso and Altuna III and Ezkurdia will play the Couples Final on March 29 at the Navarra Arena. Laso and Albisu have been the strongest couple in the txapelas, while Altuna and Ezkurdia have had more ups and downs, but have given their best level at the moment.

The Navarre Open starts this Saturday in Zugarramurdi and the grand final will be played at the Labrit in Pamplona on May 3. A total of eight couples will compete, including eight Navarre pelotaris. 

We talked to Jokin Altuna about the final of the Couples Championship. With Ezkurdia, Aspe has formed an unusual couple, but as the games have been played, the two pelotaris have understood each other perfectly.

Jon Ander Albisu's compatriots have decorated the balconies and corners of Ataun with images of the pelotari and messages of encouragement. After 16 years of career, this time they are convinced that Albisu will bring home the txapela.
