Goitia-Lekerika and Urreisti-Lopez have won the first day of the Winter Series
The Eusko Label Winters Series has started with a Group A match in which the brothers Johan and Gorka Sorozabal, the last Golden Glove champion, have faced Alex Goitia and Unai Lekerika.
In an equal first game, Goitia and Lekerika have managed to impose themselves (12-15) on the Labortane couple. Gernika's backpack has been brilliant in that first game, setting pace with its right hand and commanding.
In the second game the same result has been repeated (12-15), and a strong Lekerika has imposed his law from the back paintings.
In the second match, in group B, Ekaitz Mendizabal has faced Goixerri eta Mikel Mancisidor against Eñaut Urreist and Imanol Lopez, four Guipuzcoans, three Mutrikuarras and one Zumaiarra, in the same group in which Barandika and Basque are also among the favorites.
Winter's debut Goixerri and Manci, the current runner-up, have known each other since childhood, have partnered for many years in federation tournaments and now the League has brought them together in the most prestigious professional tournament. The premiere has not started well, since the first game has been for Urreisti and Lopez (9-15), and they have ruled from beginning to end on the scoreboard, since there has been no tie.
The Mutrikuarra couple have failed to change the dynamics of the match in the second game, especially as a result of their mistakes. Urreista and Lopez have continued to play solidly and confidently and have won the match comfortably in two games (7-15).
The second day will take place next Monday, November 3, with a single match between Erkiaga-Ibarluzea and Laduche-Zabala in group A.
