Bilbao Basket

The one-way match of the final will be played this Wednesday from 6:15 p.m. in Palataki, Greece, where the Biscayan team won the title a year ago. EITB, through kirolakeitb.eus and ETB1, will broadcast the match live.

Surne Bilbao Basket will face the Greek PAOK tomorrow, April 22, 40 minutes from the FIBA Europa Cup final. We have been with coach Jaume Ponsarnau at Loiu airport and he has told us that they are "very excited and focused."

The captain of the 'men in black' Tryggvi Hlinason has warned that the Greek team "has changed a lot" from what they found last year or two months ago in the second phase.

In the run-up to the one-way match of the FIBA European Cup final, Surne Bilbao has failed in Miribilla against the Baxi Manresa (80-84), taking a step backwards to enter the play-off.

Etxebarria Park will host the tournament from 12 to 15 June. This year the competition will be FIBA Quest. This will involve international teams competing for the World Tour ticket.

Jaume Ponsarnau's team has given a bad image in Palau Blaugrana, with only 23 points in the first half. Barça has dominated from beginning to end and has easily imposed itself on Surne Bilbao.

Surne Bilbao has won 95-88 for Szombathely in Miribilla, and with this victory they will play the FIBA Europe Cup final for the second year in a row.

The Ponsarnau have easily outperformed the Hungarian team in a serious match, with a rather cold atmosphere in the stands of Miribilla for a European semi-final.

On Wednesday, starting at 8:00 p.m., the Surne Bilbao will face the Szombathely in Miribilla. FIBA is the return match of the semi-finals of the Europa Cup, so the pass to the final is at stake; the Bilbaine team won 17 points of advantage in the one-way match. Surne Bilbao has presented its candidacy for the play-off of the Endesa League with a major victory against the Unicaja (90-74). With the eighth ranked,  stands tied with 15 wins, despite having played one more game than the Malagasy team.

After a rather poor start, the men in black have straightened the course and dominated the last three quarters. The Ponsarnau have scored 17 points for the return match in Miribilla.

The match will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live through kirolakeitb.eus and ETB1ON.

Surne Bilbao has lost 100-81 to UCAM Murcia on the 24th day of the Endesa League. The good defensive work of its rival and the success of Sito Alonso's team in the triples have been key to deciding the match.

Marc Ramon and Alejandra Llambres were with the team the week before the match against Lleida. 

Surne Bilbao has dominated Andorra in the extension (98-102). Although the match has been contested, the meeting has been decided by the exhibition of Justin Jaworski (36 points). The local effort, led by Rice and Best, has been unrewarded.

The men in black have won with authority in Miribilla and are among the top four in the continental tournament for the third year in a row. Finalerdis, Jaume Ponsarnau's team will face the Hungarian Szombathely on April 1 and 8; they will play the game back in Bilbao. 

Surne Bilbao has won the Rio Breogán in a more balanced match than the 100-90 that the Miribilla scoreboard showed. The match was decided with a great final quarter of the team led by Jaume Ponsarnau.

Jaume Ponsarnau's team got eight points ahead of the Petkimspor in the quarter-finals.
